When You Want to Move Out

Please submit a STUDENT DORMITORY NOTIFICATION OF TERMINATION OF RESIDENCE to the person in charge of the dormitory by the deadline set by each dormitory .

  • Hokumei/ Sakigake: 1 month before your decided move-out-date. (Example: If you want to move out on August 10th, submit a notification by July 9th)
  • International House: By the 20th of the previous month before the month you wish to move out (Example: If you want to move out on August 10th, submit a notification by July 20th)

1. Please clean up your room and common spaces.

  • Please remove all your belongings by the move-out-date.
  • Please throw away your trash.

2. Apply for the Mail forwarding service at the post office at least one week before moving out.

It is valid for one year from the date of application and is free. Mail will be forwarded from the specified date. There are two ways to apply: go to a post office and submit a form, or register online.

When moving to another address in Japan

After moving, please submit a "Change of address" to City Hall or Asakawa Citizens' Center within two weeks.

Please submit a copy of your residence card showing your new address to your Student Affairs Section.

Please also register your new address with your bank and mobile phone company.

When returning to your home country
